The Kunpeng 920 is based on the ARMv8 architecture and can accelerate branch prediction algorithms. It is manufactured on a 7nm scale and therefore, although it is a 64-core chip with a 2.6GHz operating frequency, the performance / watt ratio is significantly improved compared to other proposals. Huawei promises 25% better performance and 30% better energy efficiency than industry standards.
The new processor is targeted at companies that want improved overall performance and higher performance than their computing systems in ARM, Big Data, distributed storage, and more.
The Kunpeng 920 processor will be available on TaiShan servers in three versions, depending on needs (the emphasis is on storage performance, the storage is emphasized on the second, and the third on both).
