The time of 5G could be said to be slowly approaching or, in any case, "blurring" on the horizon for years to come. Already, next year, we will see compatible devices and versions (some are already in the works), however the information wants Apple to wait until 2020 for its own proposal.
A report that is now publishing Fast Company invokes an anonymous source, knowing Apple's plans for the first 5G iPhone to be released in 2020. The same source notes that Intel 10nm 8161 modem chip will be the one to be used exclusively in the future lineup of the company.
The current tests are done with a slightly older 8060 chip and the results are not very encouraging, as there is probably a problem of overheating, but Intel is convinced that they will solve the problem over time. However, if this remains, Apple is said to invest in MediaTek as an alternative supplier.
