As it had leaked in the past few days, the new Apple Watch Series 4 comes in two sizes of 40 and 44 millimeters, but its size does not grow much compared to the previous generation. Specifically, the screen in both models is much longer since Apple has minimized its margins, allowing it to be 32% larger in the 44mm model and 35% in the 40mm model. Its design remains the same but it is thinner.
Inside, there is the new Apple S4 64-bit dual-processor chip that is twice as fast as the previous generation. Apple has incorporated a series of new sensors that give separate features to its new smartwatch. For example, the new accelerometer as well as the new gyroscope are able to understand if the Apple Watch Series 4 owner fell from a height, and to automatically notify first aid by sending the user's coordinates.
More impressive, however, is the possibility of electrocardiography, a feature that does not exist in another consumer device and which has been approved by the FDA, the American Agency for Medicines and Food. All you need to do is touch the digital crown to start measuring, while watching a beautiful animation.
The speaker is 50% stronger than the previous model, allowing for stronger phone calls and better listening to Siri. Despite the changes in technical features, Apple promises the same day-to-day autonomy with normal use.
The Apple Watch Series 4 is available in 3 colors on September 21. The price of the simple model is set at $ 399 while the LTE-supported version costs $ 100 more. The Apple Watch Series 3 will remain on the market at a reduced price of $ 279.
